Little Things

I was in my room today, when I heard my dear roommate Petra scream and then call for my help. Of course I rushed to her assistance in the kitchen. She informed me that the biggest spider in the world was under our refrigerator. Quickly, we devised a plan for Petra to chase it out with bleach, and I would stomp it.
We put the plan into action, but after spraying the bleach, a very strange creature jumped out. Far to big to be a spider, and too large to frightening to step on.

It was a crab.

Which I told Petra and she did not believe me.
It ran under the fridge, and we waited. When it showed up again, we went into mild panic, but then I trapped it under a glass.
I was afraid it would be able to get out, so I put a peach on it.
Close up.

His origins are still unknown, but we think he may die of bleach poison soon.

PAX or No One Will Ever Love You

This one is for you, Brook.

A little over a week ago I was in Washington catching up with all of my dear friends and enjoying home. Despite the many activities i partook in, one event in particular merits the first spot in my blog.

PAX: Penny Arcade Expo
This crowd represents not even a tenth of how many people were in that line alone, all waiting to sample video games, get video game "swag," and see demos of new games to come.

There were many video game demos. The lines to play these games however, often could leave you yearning for up to two hours. Although we did not wait in any lines, on occasion a game would open up and we would play.

The best part of this convention simply was the characters you would run into. This is Jason with a charming man dressed up as an alien. Very Unusual.

These fellows were enjoying following the dance moves of rabbits. (They are supposed to all be doing the same thing, but not all of them understood the point of the game.)

What is making these three youths so bored and despondent?

Playing Float On, by Modest Mouse, of course!

I got my fair share of pictures with costumed people. The picture with the storm trooper was my last one of the day, as well as my favorite. Here is the exchange that followed:
Me: "I'm sorry to bother you, thanks for the picture!"
Storm Trooper: "Not a problem! I enjoyed it! Usually nobody notices me..."
Totally sad.

It was a fun day. I got a lot of free stuff and saw many exciting video games. The people were simply a delight. I will never forget the mysterious Indian man who gave me a "wii-mote" filled with gum, simply for smiling at him as I passed.

Video Games and unusual people.
That was PAX.
I loved it.
